We found out a little while ago that we have some exciting news about our up-coming and growing family. We're pregnant! We are due about the 21st of December and we're hoping for a girl but we'll take whatever we get. When we decided it was time to tell Kole we told him to keep it a secret for a few weeks-BIG MISTAKE! It was really funny because the nest day when I picked him up from school, he had told his teachers and his entire class about "Mommy and Daddy's special hug." And about what can happen afterwards. He also shared with them the place where the baby comes out. Apparently it was quite educational for the entire class...Well, I guess the moral of the story is if you want to keep a secret, don't tell your 5-year old!

Visitors from California
We had the pleasure of having Uncle Nate, Aunt Laura and cousin Addie to visit over Mother's Day! Kamden and Addie had a great time playing together and it was funny to watch their different personalities. We went to the local farmers market and to the park for a picnic. We also went to one of our favorite places- Lattin's Cider Mill and had yummy apple fritters! Bryan, Nate, Laura and Kole got to go to Seattle to the Mariners/Yankees baseball game. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling real well so I stayed and watch the two little ones. We had a great time and can't wait to see them again!

Kamden turns TWO!!!
Since I unfortunately had to teach a class on Monday night, we decided to celebrate Kamden's birthday a day early and have it on Sunday. I don't think he noticed...anyway, we had a great time! He even enjoyed his cake and icecream this year! In case any of you forgot he was feeling a little sick on his birthday last year and wouldn't even touch his cake. We even got footage of him throwing up on camera...poor child. This year was totally different though. He loved every second of the attention and he played with his new toys until bedtime. He got a train that has animals that ride on it and plays music from us and Grandma and Grandpa. He also got a little draw/erase board for church from Grandma and Grandpa. What a lucky boy!

"Kole-isms"
Writing-
At the sophisticated age of 5, Kole has really gotten into practicing his letters. His favorite word to spell out, of course is S-p-i-d-e-r-m-a-n. Coming in at a close second is H-a-p-p-y-B-i-r-t-h-d-a-y! Do you know how many times in a day we help him spell out these words?!
Bugs-
For St. Patricks Day, Aunt Laura sent each of my children a dollar bill. We took the money and made a trip to The Dollar Store to spend it. After careful consideration Kole decided to purchase a Bug Kit. It came with a bug-holding container AND a pair of special tweezers for extracting them from their places of residence. His favorite things to look for and collect are worms and recently..despite my warnings...bees! I don't know how he manages to catch them without getting stung! I only have one thing left to say about this....BOYS!!!

"Kam-isms"
Growling-
Kamden is obsessed with growling at everything. I will never forget watching him sit in front of the sliding glass door when suddenly he started to growl. I looked out the window to see what it was and realized that it was a FLY! We got a kick out of that..
Binky-
When Kole was a baby he never said no to his binky. With Kamden it is all about the mood he's in. If he's tired, needs comfort, or for riding in the car. The funniest thing is at bedtime when it is time to get ready, he starts to call out for his binky. He will walk around the house saying, "beek, beek, beek," until he finds it.
Words-
Mama, Dadda, Grandpa/Grandma (both pronounced Gu-pa), Kole (Ko), shoes, uh-oh, bye-bye, please, (ease), thank-you (da-du), we say "one" then he says "two" "sree", and his favorite word-NO!!!
Finger picking-
Kamden is obsessedwith his fingernails! If there is any little tiny piece of skin or nail hanging he will find it. He is constantly looking his fingers over for any little scrap to pull off. If he finds one that he can't get off himself he comes running to me with the "disabled" finger, saying "eh, eh, eh!" He does it with his toes too! Weird.

Easter Egg Hunt
After the beautiful weather on Friday, we had high hopes for our Easter Egg Hunt but of course...it was raining! It didn't seem to phase any of the kids though. We had fun watching them. Once Kamden's basket started getting full the eggs starting falling out. He would immediately say "uh oh" and stop to pick them up. Pretty soon he thought that was more fun then picking up new eggs....lets just drop the ones I have and pick them up all over again.

A Day at the Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa
We went to the Point Defiance Zoo while Grandma and Grandpa were here to visit. It was such a gorgeous day and we were happy to be out in the sun...finally! Some of our favorite exhibits were the sharks and the beluga whale. They had 13 foot sharks in this aquarium and we could have watched them all day! It was amazing! Kole had a great question during the belulga whale show. He asked the trainer how they breathe and it turned into a really cool demonstration. We were all very proud of him. Kamden was a hit growling at ALL the animals....birds...otters...fish. Apparently he was a tiger in a former life..

Kole's Birthday Party
Kole had such a blast at his birthday party! We went to a gymnastics place and all of his friends joined him. They had a gigantic foam pit that the kids could jump into and also other places to run, bounce, and swing on. It was definitely a perfect place for these wild and crazy boys! We also had a party at home with just our family. We had decorations put up and Kole even had a Darth Vader icecream cake that was yummmmy! Kamden loved the blue frosting and much to our dismay had a face to match when we realized that it stained your skin! He had a blue face for a day.......lovely.
