Christmas Greetings from Washington

We were so fortunate to be able to have Bryan's parents and younger brother come to visit us in Washington for Christmas. They arrived on the 22nd and stayed until the 27th. We had such a wonderful time and were sad when it was time for them to go. The following are just a few of the pictures we took over the course of their visit.

Logan had his first bath on Christmas day. Until then I had to sponge bathe him because it took forever for the little umbilical cord to fall out of his belly button. He didn't scream until after we took him out of the bath. Apparently he doesn't like the two seconds in between warm bath water and towel!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day...at least the chaos was semi-organized. It was so nice not to have to travel and visit multiple family members this year. In fact, this was the first Christmas that we have been in our own home since we were married. We could definitely get used to this. Christmas dinner consisted of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beams, and Grandma's rolls. Delicioso!

Christmas Eve

This Christmas Eve as is tradition in our family, the boys were able to open one (preselected) present from their parents. This year Kole received a set of Spider-man 3 pajamas and Kamden received a new set of Elmo PJs. As you can see in the photos, the boys are very proud of their new bedtime looks.

On Sunday Bryan was helping Kamden get dressed for church. He put the clothes on him and Kamden promptly described his outfit by saying, "cute... pitty (pretty). Bryan was quick to correct him with the appropriate "not pretty...HANDSOME!"

A woman in our ward made this outfit for our little man. It was a gift from the shower last week. He had his pictures taken in the outfit the other day.

This is the hat she knitted. You can adjust it by placing it on the child's head and then tying a knot, like the picture below.

Warning to all parents...DO NOT leave Desitin on the changing table

Last Thursday night, the Burbidges came over during Logan's baby shower to watch my Broncos get kicked by the Texans. It was bad enough that the Broncos lost, but it had been quiet for quite a while too. Barrett and I went back to the nursery to find Kamden and Bella up their eyeballs (literally) in Desitin. They had painted every rail on the baby's crib and left several blobs on the new carpet. We plopped the two of them into the tub in an attempt to remove the Desitin from their nostrils, ears, eyes, and hair. The room reeks of the stuff. If any of you were wondering, Desitin does not come out of carpet easily because of its oil content. One hundred twenty-five dollars later, we now have clean carpet courtesy of Chem-Dry.

How Lucky We Are...

Bryan and I feel so lucky to have three amazing little boys. There has been such an overwhelming spirit in our home since Logan's arrival. It always amazes me how instantly you feel that incredible love. It makes me think of how much our Heavenly Father loves all of us. Though being a Mom definitely has its challenges, I feel so grateful that I have been entrusted with these special spirits.

Gingerbread House

Who know we also had a structural engineer in the family? Kole and Grandma constructed their first gingerbread house this evening. If we could only use frosting to repair real bridges we may have been able to avoid the bridge collapse in Minnesota a few months ago. Kole was very attentive and enjoyed applying the frosting and candy to the house. Grandma was very patient with the enthusiastic budding engineer. Kole especially enjoyed munching on the leftover gingerbread men and candy.
