Michelle-Back to School?!

In my endeavor to someday finish college I started taking a couple of classes at South Puget Sound Community College here in Olympia. I am taking an online Intro to Sociology class which I am finding very fascinating (which is good considering I have chosen Sociology as my major). I am also taking a math class which is held at the campus 2 evenings a week. I really dislike math but its not too bad considering I have Bryan at home to help me when I need it. ..(lucky him!)

Kole's First Soccer Game

Kole is very excited to be on his first soccer team through the Olympia YMCA. He went to practice last Wednesday and met his coach, who I have to say is amazing! I couldn't believe how he got these kids to listen and learn the "fundamentals" of soccer. It was very entertaining to watch them at the game. Kole got really close to scoring a goal and we were very proud of his efforts. He told us afterwards that his heart was pounding so hard! His team unfortunately did not win their first game (especially since the kids on the opposing team, I swear, were some form of superhuman species..) but maybe next time!

Kole's First Day of School

Look at the big boy! Kole had his first day of kindergarten on Monday, September 10. He enjoyed seeing his friends again, playing at recess, and exercising in the gym. He likes his new "kicks" and his new Turtle Power backpack. He is really excited that he gets to ride the bus to school this year. Our little boy is growing up!

Visiting Gpa and Gma Dillon in Utah

After we left my parents house in Hyrum we went to Sandy to stay at Bryan’s parents house. We had such a fun time playing games and going to restaurants like Café Rio and Village Baker. Kole and Kamden enjoyed the big wheels and swimming in the backyard. Kole also enjoyed visiting all the neighbors like Marla, Vic, Buddie and the Stuarts, and the Bradfields with their two dotsons. Watching Kamden and Adelaide interact and play together was really fun. It was especially nice to be present during the anticipation of the adoption of little Kaitlyn. We were so glad that we could be there to witness what a miraculous and exciting time for Jeff and Danielle as they awaited the arrival of their precious daughter. We couldn’t be there to see her come home from the hospital, but we were so fortunate to be able to go to the hospital to see her before we left. What a beautiful baby! Congratulations to Jeff and Danielle. We love you both so much and can’t wait to see what exciting adventures lie ahead as you journey into this whole parenting thing!

When it was finally time to make the trip back home we definitely had mixed feelings. We were excited to be sleeping in our own beds but were sad to see all the fun coming to an end. Being with our family was such a great way to spend the end of the summer.

Tracy Aviary

We visited Tracy Aviary at Liberty Park with Grandma Dillon. The kids loved seeing the birds and Kole and Kamden chased down the peacocks every chance they could get. I think their favorite part was lunch though…

Boondocks with the Page Siblings

We had a great time at “Boondocks” in Draper. It has Go-Karts, Laser Tag, Bumper Boats, Miniature Golf and many other fun activities. We went with Angela, Brett, Jessica and Stephen. Kole rode the rookie go-karts for the first time and we laughed hysterically. He was so intense and we were surprised at what a great driver he was…hopefully that will be the case when he turns 16 and gets his license! Of course they wouldn’t let me drive the go-karts because of my current physical state (being pregnant) so I was officially deemed the “picture-taker.” Kamden had a great time on the Bumper Boats with my sister Angela. Apparently he was so little that the water just skimmed the top of his hat so he barely even got wet but was having a blast squirting everyone else. He especially liked the Kiddie Cove which is a giant jungle gym with slides.

Because we had such a great time with my siblings, we went another day with Laura, Nate, and Adelaide. Addie was a little scared of the Kiddie Cove which made me laugh, but it didn’t seem to faze Kamden at all. He is definitely all-boy!

Visiting Gpa and Gma Page in Utah

We started out our vacation in Utah by visiting with Grandpa Page and Grandma Sandy at their new house in Hyrum, Utah. Jessica even came down from Salt Lake so she could spend some time with us. Hyrum is a rural area located just outside of Logan. They have such a beautiful home and love it there. They have a dog, three cats and some goats and the boys had a blast playing with all these fun animals. They especially enjoyed playing with “Mr. Muffin” the cat. It is a special breed called a Teacup Persian which means that it is very tiny even as a full-grown cat. Kamden just loved holding him every chance he could…poor cat! The boys also had a great time playing with their aunts Madison and Nicole. The girls even got into little fights over who got to do what with the boys. I found that very amusing. On our first night there we rode on my Dad’s new 4-wheeler. At first Kamden was scared, but then when he saw how much fun Kole was having he decided to go…then we couldn’t get him off! The next day we went down to the lake and canoed and swam. It was very muddy there but we had a great time anyway! That night we had a wonderful BBQ and visited some more. We left the next day to go down to Sandy to visit Bryan’s family. Kole and Kamden both had a hard time saying goodbye to “Mr. Muffin.”
